Believe in Prophets as Messengers of Allah

10/4/2017, 13 Rejab 1438H

Prophet

Prophets are the human being, appointed by Allah (The God) to spread the messages to another human being, to worship Allah only and to show good example for us to follow. All the Prophets appointed by Allah, are guaranteed paradise. That's why we should follow their way and messages, so that we will not be astray and be in paradise eternally like them. InsyaAllah.

We should not worship any Prophets, but we should worship Allah, the creator of the Prophets.

Surat Al-'Anbyā' (The Prophets), Chapter 21, Verse 7-8:

"And We sent not before you, [O Muhammad], except men to whom We revealed [the message], so ask the people of the message if you do not know. And We did not make the prophets forms not eating food, nor were they immortal [on earth]." (Quran 21:7-8)

Prophet for every nation (before Prophet Muhammad)

Surat Yūnus (Jonah), Chapter 10, Verse 47:

"And for every nation is a messenger. So when their messenger comes, it will be judged between them in justice, and they will not be wronged" (Quran 10:47)

"Whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] his soul. And whoever errs only errs against it. And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. And never would We punish until We sent a messenger." (Quran 17:15)

Purpose of Messengers

Surat An-Nisā' (The Women), Chapter 4, Verse 163-167:

"And [We sent] messengers about whom We have related [their stories] to you before and messengers about whom We have not related to you. And Allah spoke to Moses with [direct] speech.
[We sent] messengers as bringers of good tidings and warners so that mankind will have no argument against Allah after the messengers. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise.
But Allah bears witness to that which He has revealed to you. He has sent it down with His knowledge, and the angels bear witness [as well]. And sufficient is Allah as Witness.
Indeed, those who disbelieve and avert [people] from the way of Allah have certainly gone far astray." (Quran 4:163-167)

Surat Al-'A`rāf (The Heights), Chapter 7, Verse 35:

"O children of Adam, if there come to you messengers from among you relating to you My verses, then whoever fears Allah and reforms - there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve." (Quran 7:35)

The lineage of the Prophets

The lineage of the prophets are similar to the prophets mentioned in the previous books of Allah before Quran, that is the Bible. However, Quran is 100% words of Allah swt (The God), revealed to the final prophet (Prophet Muhammad PBUH) through angel Gibrael.

The basic stories of the prophets in Quran and Bible are similar, but there are some differences such as the incest by Prophet Lot and his daughters, and the adultery by Prophet David and Bathsheba in Bible. Which story of the prophets in scripture is authentic, the Bible or the Quran?

30 Lot and his two daughters left Zoar and settled in the mountains, for he was afraid to stay in Zoar. He and his two daughters lived in a cave.
31 One day the older daughter said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man around here to give us children—as is the custom all over the earth.
32 Let’s get our father to drink wine and then sleep with him and preserve our family line through our father.”
33 That night they got their father to drink wine, and the older daughter went in and slept with him. He was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.
34 The next day the older daughter said to the younger, “Last night I slept with my father. Let’s get him to drink wine again tonight, and you go in and sleep with him so we can preserve our family line through our father.”
35 So they got their father to drink wine that night also, and the younger daughter went in and slept with him. Again he was not aware of it when she lay down or when she got up.
36 So both of Lot’s daughters became pregnant by their father.
37 The older daughter had a son, and she named him Moab[g]; he is the father of the Moabites of today.
38 The younger daughter also had a son, and she named him Ben-Ammi[h]; he is the father of the Ammonites[i] of today.

Thats why muslims only follow Quran as the pure and authentic words of Allah swt. Quran only has one version, which is the same version since Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), but the contents are fresh until today. Quran as guidance and way of life for mankind. Quran is revealed not for muslims only, but for all mankind. The knowledge in Quran such as humanity and science are useful for all mankind.

Muslims are not perfect, we are all human being that commit mistakes. However if we seek forgiveness directly from Allah swt sincerely, He will forgive us. He is Al-Ghaffar,” meaning “The Ever Forgiving,” is related to His Mercy. Repentance does not mean just 'I am sorry', but promise to Allah and ourselves, not to repeat the same mistake. In Islam, we do not believe in 'original sin'. Prophet Adam repented to Allah swt, and Allah swt forgave him. So we do not inherit any sin from the past, and do not need to be baptist. Everyone is born sinless. We are responsible for our good and bad deeds, since our puberty age till the end of our time. All our deeds are recorded by our angels. There is no secret between us and Allah swt. He knew everything inside our heart and mind. That will determine our future in afterlife.

Surat Qāf (The Letter "Qaf"), Chapter 50, Verse 16:

50:16

"And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein" (Quran 50:16)

Surat Az-Zumar (The Troops), Chapter 39, Verse 53:

39:53

“Say: O my servants who have acted extravagantly against their own souls, do not despair of the mercy of Allah; surely Allah forgives the faults altogether; surely He is the Forgiving the Merciful” (Quran, 39:53).
Prophets as guidance to eternal paradise
Islam is not a new religion, but Islam existed since Prophet Adam (the first mankind). The Prophets are the noble human being appointed by Allah swt to guide human being to paradise. They are guaranteed paradise by Allah swt. All of them brought the same message, to worship the oneness God. As a muslims, we follow their way of life as guidance, and we worship the same God. The God of Prophet Adam to Prophet Jesus and Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

We do not worship any of the prophets, but we follow their teaching, to worship ONE same God (Allah swt).

Stories of Prophets in Quran

All prophets have their own stories as our reminder and guidance. The authentic stories of the Prophets can be found in the Quran. There are 124,000 Prophets and Messengers appointed by Allah swt. However, there are 25 prophets mentioned in the Quran to be follow.

Though Bible contained some God's words, but Bible also contained some human words. Thus, muslims read and follow the authentic words of God in Quran. It has been mentioned in the Bible and Quran that Prophet Muhammad PBUH is the final prophet of Allah. Thats why muslims believe that "There is no God, except Allah and Prophet Muhammad PBUH is the final messenger of Allah swt."

People of Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity and Islam believe that there is only One God to be worship. Yes there is only One God (One Creator) to be worship. However, the difference of prophet to be follow is different. The Jewish people accept and follow the prophets up to Prophet Moses, the christians accept prophets up to Jesus, but muslims accept and follow the teaching of the final prophet; Prophet Muhammad PBUH.

Timeline of Prophets as the evolution of human civilization

The history of mankind and religion are began in middle east. The prophets are appointed at different time to one another, but there are some prophets that appointed at the same era, such as Prophet Moses and Aaron who are brothers. Those who are from the same race of any Prophets, doesn't make them any superior to any other races in this world. Allah only judge us based on our righteous.

We are all from the same root of Prophet Adam and Eve. Prophet Adam was the first mankind. To know the history of human civilization and human root, is to trace the origin of the prophets life such as the birth place, the historical places mentioned in the scriptures during their life, their teachings and the place of where they are buried.

"All mankind is from Adam and Eve. An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action"

'Ulul Azmi'

There were five prophets who encountered in the most tribulation and tyrant for spreading the message of tauhid (Oneness of God). They are referred to as Nuh (Noah) (as), Ibrahim (Abraham) (as), Musa(Moses) (as), 'Isa (Jesus) (as), and Muhammad (S) in the following verse:
42:13

"He has ordained for you of religion what He enjoined upon Noah and that which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus - to establish the religion and not be divided therein. Difficult for those who associate others with Allah is that to which you invite them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him]." (Quran 42:13)

Peace Be Upon Them All

*PBUH = Peace Be Upon Him
