Isa/Jesus (Peace be upon him) in Quran
The
virtue of Maryam binti Imran
|
3:37,
3:42-45, 5:75, 23:50, 66:12
|
"So her Lord accepted her with good
acceptance and caused her to grow in a good manner and put her in the care of
Zechariah. Every time Zechariah entered upon her in the prayer chamber, he
found with her provision. He said, "O Mary, from where is this [coming]
to you?" She said, "It is from Allah . Indeed, Allah provides for
whom He wills without account." (Quran 3:37)
|
|
"And [mention] when the angels said,
"O Mary, indeed Allah has chosen you and purified you and chosen you
above the women of the worlds.
O Mary, be devoutly obedient to your Lord and
prostrate and bow with those who bow [in prayer]."
That is from the news of the unseen which We
reveal to you, [O Muhammad]. And you were not with them when they cast their
pens as to which of them should be responsible for Mary. Nor were you with
them when they disputed.
[And mention] when the angels said, "O
Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose name will
be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary - distinguished in this world and the
Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allah ].” (Quran 3: 42-45)
|
|
"The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a
messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a
supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to
them the signs; then look how they are deluded.” (Quran 5: 75)

|
Surat Al-Mu'minūn (The Believers),
Chapter 23, Verse 50:
“And We made the son of Mary and his mother a

"And Maryam (Mary), the daughter of
'Imran who guarded her chastity; and We breathed into (the sleeve of her
shirt or her garment) through Our Ruh [i.e. Jibrael (Gabriel)], and she
testified to the truth of the Words of her Lord [i.e. believed in the Words
of Allah: "Be!" and he was; that is 'Iesa (Jesus) - son of Maryam
(Mary); as a Messenger of Allah], and (also believed in) His Scriptures, and
she was of the Qanitin (i.e. obedient to Allah)." (Quran 66:12)

; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it,
'Be,' and it is." (Quran 3: 47)
|
|
“And [We cursed them] for their disbelief and
their saying against Mary a great slander.” (Quran 4:156)

|
“She said, "How can I have a boy while
no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?" (Quran 19:20)
|
|
"And (remember) she who guarded her
chastity [Virgin Maryam (Mary)], We breathed into (the sleeves of) her (shirt
or garment) [through Our Ruh - Jibrael (Gabriel)], and We made her and her
son ['Iesa (Jesus)] a sign for Al-'Alamin (the mankind and jinns).” (Quran

"Say, [O believers], "We have
believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed
to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was
given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord.
We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in
submission] to Him." (Quran 2:136)
|
|
"[And mention] when the angels said,
"O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a word from Him, whose
name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary - distinguished in this
world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to Allah ].
He will speak to the people in the cradle and
in maturity and will be of the righteous."
She said, "My Lord, how will I have a
child when no man has touched me?" [The angel] said, "Such is Allah
; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a matter, He only says to it, 'Be,'
and it is."
And He will teach him writing and wisdom and
the Torah and the Gospel” (Quran 3:45-48)
|
|
"Indeed, We have revealed to you, [O
Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets after him. And we revealed
to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Descendants, Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron,
and Solomon, and to David We gave the book [of Psalms].” (Quran 4:163)
|
|
"Never would the Messiah disdain to be a
servant of Allah , nor would the angels near [to Him]. And whoever disdains
His worship and is arrogant - He will gather them to Himself all together.”
(Quran 4:172)
|
|
"And Zechariah and John and Jesus and
Elias - and all were of the righteous." (Quran 6:85)
|
|
"He said, "I am only the messenger
of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy."
She said, "How can I have a boy while no
man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?"
He said, "Thus [it will be]; your Lord
says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a
mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already] decreed.' "
So she conceived him, and she withdrew with
him to a remote place.
And the pains of childbirth drove her to the
trunk of a palm tree. She said, "Oh, I wish I had died before this and
was in oblivion, forgotten."
But he called her from below her, "Do
not grieve; your Lord has provided beneath you a stream.
And shake toward you the trunk of the palm
tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates.
So eat and drink and be contented. And if you
see from among humanity anyone, say, 'Indeed, I have vowed to the Most
Merciful abstention, so I will not speak today to [any] man.' "
Then she brought him to her people, carrying
him. They said, "O Mary, you have certainly done a thing unprecedented.
O sister of Aaron, your father was not a man
of evil, nor was your mother unchaste."
So she pointed to him. They said, "How
can we speak to one who is in the cradle a child?"
[Jesus] said, "Indeed, I am the servant
of Allah . He has given me the Scripture and made me a prophet.
And He has made me blessed wherever I am and
has enjoined upon me prayer and zakah as long as I remain alive
And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He
has not made me a wretched tyrant.
And peace is on me the day I was born and the
day I will die and the day I am raised alive."
That is Jesus, the son of Mary - the word of
truth about which they are in dispute.” (Quran 19:19-34)

Surat Al-Mu'minūn (The Believers),
Chapter 23, Verse 50:
“And We made the son of Mary and his mother a
sign and sheltered them within a high ground having level [areas] and flowing
water.” (Quran 23:50)
|
|
"Jesus was not but a servant upon whom
We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.
And if We willed, We could have made
[instead] of you angels succeeding [one another] on the earth.
And indeed, Jesus will be [a sign for]
knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and follow Me. This is a
straight path.
And never let Satan avert you. Indeed, he is
to you a clear enemy.
"And when Jesus brought clear proofs, he
said, "I have come to you with wisdom and to make clear to you some of
that over which you differ, so fear Allah and obey me.” (Quran 43:59-63)
|
|
"Then, We sent after them, Our
Messengers, and We sent 'Iesa (Jesus) - son of Maryam (Mary), and gave him
the Injeel (Gospel). And We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him,
compassion and mercy. But the Monasticism which they invented for themselves,
We did not prescribe for them, but (they sought it) only to please Allah
therewith, but that they did not observe it with the right observance. So We
gave those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are
Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).” (Quran 57:27)

"O People of the Scripture, do not
commit excess in your religion or say about Allah except the truth. The
Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but a messenger of Allah and His word
which He directed to Mary and a soul [created at a command] from Him. So
believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say, "Three";

The
Jews plotted to kill Isa a.s.
|
4:157
|
“And [for] their saying, "Indeed, we
have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah
." And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another]
was made to resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in

assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain.” (Quran 4:157)

|
Prophet
Isa a.s. was raised to the heaven
|
3:55,
4:158
|
"[Mention] when Allah said, "O
Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from
those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in submission to Allah
alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then
to Me is your return, and I will judge between you concerning that in which
you used to differ.” (Quran 3:55)
|
|
“Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And
ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise.” (Quran 4:158)
|
|
Prophet
Isa a.s. will descend in the end of times
|
4:159

“And there is none from the People of the

Prophet
Isa a.s. is taken as God by his people
|
5:17,
5:72-77, 5:116, 9:31, 43:57-65
|
"They have certainly disbelieved who say
that Allah is Christ, the son of Mary. Say, "Then who could prevent
Allah at all if He had intended to destroy Christ, the son of Mary, or his
mother or everyone on the earth?" And to Allah belongs the dominion of
the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them. He creates what He
wills, and Allah is over all things competent.” (Quran 5:17)
|
|
"They have certainly disbelieved who
say, " Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has
said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah , my Lord and your
Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden
him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the
wrongdoers any helpers.
They have certainly disbelieved who say,
" Allah is the third of three." And there is no god except one God.
And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely
afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment.
So will they not repent to Allah and seek His
forgiveness? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a
messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him. And his mother was a
supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how We make clear to
them the signs; then look how they are deluded.
Say, "Do you worship besides Allah that
which holds for you no [power of] harm or benefit while it is Allah who is
the Hearing, the Knowing?
"Say, "O People of the Scripture,
do not exceed limits in your religion beyond the truth and do not follow the
inclinations of a people who had gone astray before and misled many and have
strayed from the soundness of the way." (Quran 5: 72-77)
|
|
"And [beware the Day] when Allah will
say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, 'Take me and my
mother as deities besides Allah ?'" He will say, "Exalted are You!
It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You
would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what
is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen.” (Quran
5:116)

Surat At-Tawbah (The Repentance),
Chapter 9, Verse 31:
“They have taken their scholars and monks as
lords besides Allah , and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary. And they were
not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except Him.
Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him.” (Quran 9:31)
|
|
"And when the son of Mary was presented
as an example, immediately your people laughed aloud.
And they said, "Are our gods better, or
is he?" They did not present the comparison except for [mere] argument.
But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute.
Jesus was not but a servant upon whom We
bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the Children of Israel.
"And when Jesus brought clear proofs, he
said, "I have come to you with wisdom and to make clear to you some of
that over which you differ, so fear Allah and obey me.
Indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so
worship Him. This is a straight path."
But the denominations from among them
differed [and separated], so woe to those who have wronged from the
punishment of a painful Day." (Quran 43:57-65)

"They have certainly disbelieved who
say, " Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary" while the Messiah has
said, "O Children of Israel, worship Allah , my Lord and your
Lord." Indeed, he who associates others with Allah - Allah has forbidden
him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And there are not for the wrongdoers
any helpers.

Surat Al-Fātiĥah (The Opener), Chapter
1, Verse 7:
“The Way of those on whom You have bestowed
Your Grace , not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews),
nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians).” (Quran 1:7)
|
|
“And never will the Jews or the Christians
approve of you until you follow their religion. Say, "Indeed, the
guidance of Allah is the [only] guidance." If you were to follow their
desires after what has come to you of knowledge, you would have against Allah
no protector or helper.” (Quran 2:120)
|
|
“And if you brought to those who were given
the Scripture every sign, they would not follow your qiblah. Nor will you be
a follower of their qiblah. Nor would they be followers of one another's
qiblah. So if you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of
knowledge, indeed, you would then be among the wrongdoers.” (Quran 2:145)

“And do not be like the ones who became
divided and differed after the clear proofs had come to them. And those will
have a great punishment.” (Quran 3:105)

“O you who have believed, do not take the
Jews and the Christians as allies. They are [in fact] allies of one another.
And whoever is an ally to them among you - then indeed, he is [one] of them.
Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing people.” (Quran 5:51)
|
|
“Has the time not come for those who have
believed that their hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance
of Allah and what has come down of the truth? And let them not be like those
who were given the Scripture before, and a long period passed over them, so
their hearts hardened; and many of them are defiantly disobedient.” (Quran
57:16)

Surat Al-Mujādila (The Pleading Woman),
Chapter 58, Verse 9:

Messenger but converse about righteousness and piety. And fear Allah , to
whom you will be gathered.” (Quran 58:9)

"You will surely find the most intense
of the people in animosity toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those
who associate others with Allah ; and you will find the nearest of them in
affection to the believers those who say, "We are Christians." That
is because among them are priests and monks and because they are not
arrogant." (Quran 5:82)

“Made lawful to you this day are At-Tayyibat
[all kinds of Halal (lawful) foods, which Allah has made lawful (meat of
slaughtered eatable animals, etc., milk products, fats, vegetables and
fruits, etc.). The food (slaughtered cattle, eatable animals, etc.) of the
people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) is lawful to you and yours is
lawful to them. (Lawful to you in marriage) are chaste women from the
believers and chaste women from those who were given the Scripture (Jews and
Christians) before your time, when you have given their due Mahr (bridal
money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage), desiring
chastity (i.e. taking them in legal wedlock) not committing illegal sexual
intercourse, nor taking them as girl-friends. And whosoever disbelieves in
the Oneness of Allah and in all the other Articles of Faith [i.e. His
(Allah's), Angels, His Holy Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection
and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)], then fruitless is his work, and in the
Hereafter he will be among the losers.” (Quran 5:5)

The
hatred of the Christians against the Jews
|
2:113,
2:145, 5:14
|
“The Jews say "The Christians have
nothing [true] to stand on," and the Christians say, "The Jews have
nothing to stand on," although they [both] recite the Scripture. Thus
the polytheists speak the same as their words. But Allah will judge between
them on the Day of Resurrection concerning that over which they used to
differ.” (Quran 2:113)
|
|
“And if you brought to those who were given
the Scripture every sign, they would not follow your qiblah. Nor will you be
a follower of their qiblah. Nor would they be followers of one another's
qiblah. So if you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of
knowledge, indeed, you would then be among the wrongdoers.” (Quran 2:145)
|
|
“And from those who say, "We are
Christians" We took their covenant; but they forgot a portion of that of
which they were reminded. So We caused among them animosity and hatred until
the Day of Resurrection. And Allah is going to inform them about what they
used to do.” (Quran 5:14)

Injil (Gospel)
was sent down to Prophet Isa a.s.
|
2:87,
2:253, 3:3, 5:46
|
"And We did certainly give Moses the
Torah and followed up after him with messengers. And We gave Jesus, the son
of Mary, clear proofs and supported him with the Pure Spirit. But is it [not]
that every time a messenger came to you, [O Children of Israel], with what
your souls did not desire, you were arrogant? And a party [of messengers] you
denied and another party you killed." (Quran 2:87)
|
|
"Those messengers - some of them We
caused to exceed others. Among them were those to whom Allah spoke, and He
raised some of them in degree. And We gave Jesus, the Son of Mary, clear proofs,
and We supported him with the Pure Spirit. If Allah had willed, those
[generations] succeeding them would not have fought each other after the
clear proofs had come to them. But they differed, and some of them believed
and some of them disbelieved. And if Allah had willed, they would not have
fought each other, but Allah does what He intends." (Quran 2:253)
|
|
"He has sent down upon you, [O
Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He revealed
the Torah and the Gospel." (Quran 3:3)
|
|
"And We sent, following in their
footsteps, Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in
the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light and
confirming that which preceded it of the Torah as guidance and instruction
for the righteous.” (Quran 5:46)

The
mention of Trinity

4:171,
5:73, 9:30
|
Surat An-Nisā' (The Women), Chapter 4,
Verse 171:
“O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)!
Do not exceed the limits in your religion, nor say of Allah aught but the
truth. The Messiah 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary), was (no more than) a
Messenger of Allah and His Word, ("Be!" - and he was) which He
bestowed on Maryam (Mary) and a spirit (Ruh) created by Him; so believe in
Allah and His Messengers. Say not: "Three (trinity)!" Cease! (it
is) better for you. For Allah is (the only) One Ilah (God), Glory be to Him
(Far Exalted is He) above having a son. To Him belongs all that is in the
heavens and all that is in the earth. And Allah is All-Sufficient as a
Disposer of affairs.” (Quran 4:171)
|
|
Surat Al-Mā'idah (The Table Spread),
Chapter 5, Verse 73:
“Surely, disbelievers are those who said:
"Allah is the third of the three (in a Trinity)." But there is no
ilah (god) (none who has the right to be worshipped) but One Ilah (God -Allah).
And if they cease not from what they say, verily, a painful torment will
befall the disbelievers among them.” (Quran 5:73)
|
|
Surat At-Tawbah (The Repentance), Chapter
9, Verse 30:
“And the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of
Allah, and the Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allah. That is a saying
from their mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old.
Allah's Curse be on them, how they are deluded away from the truth!” (Quran
9:30)

3:3,
3:48, 3:65, 5:47, 5:66-68, 5:110, 6:20, 7:157, 9:111, 48:29, 57:27
|
“Those to whom We have given the Scripture
(Jews and Christians) recognize him (i.e. Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of
Allah, and they also know that there is no Ilah (God) but Allah and Islam is
Allah's Religion), as they recognize their own sons. Those who destroy
themselves will not believe.” (Quran 6:20)
|
|
"He has sent down upon you, [O
Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming what was before it. And He revealed the
Torah and the Gospel." (Quran 3:3)
|
|
"And He (Allah) will teach him ['Iesa
(Jesus)] the Book and Al-Hikmah (i.e. the Sunnah, the faultless speech of the
Prophets, wisdom, etc.), (and) the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel).”
(Quran 3:48)
|
|
“O people of the Scripture (Jews and
Christians)! Why do you dispute about Ibrahim (Abraham), while the Taurat
(Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) were not revealed till after him? Have you
then no sense?” (Quran 3:65)
|
|
"And let the People of the Gospel judge
by what Allah has revealed therein. And whoever does not judge by what Allah
has revealed - then it is those who are the defiantly disobedient.” (Quran 5:47)
|
|
"And if only they upheld [the law of]
the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to them from their Lord,
they would have consumed [provision] from above them and from beneath their
feet. Among them are a moderate community, but many of them - evil is that
which they do.
O Messenger, announce that which has been revealed
to you from your Lord, and if you do not, then you have not conveyed His
message. And Allah will protect you from the people. Indeed, Allah does not
guide the disbelieving people.
Say, "O People of the Scripture, you are
[standing] on nothing until you uphold [the law of] the Torah, the Gospel,
and what has been revealed to you from your Lord." And that which has
been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in
transgression and disbelief. So do not grieve over the disbelieving people.”
(Quran 5:66-68)
|
|
"[The Day] when Allah will say, "O
Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My favor upon you and upon your mother when I
supported you with the Pure Spirit and you spoke to the people in the cradle
and in maturity; and [remember] when I taught you writing and wisdom and the
Torah and the Gospel; and when you designed from clay [what was] like the
form of a bird with My permission, then you breathed into it, and it became a
bird with My permission; and you healed the blind and the leper with My
permission; and when you brought forth the dead with My permission; and when
I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing] you when you came to them
with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among them said, "This is
not but obvious magic." (Quran 5:110)
|
|
"Those who follow the Messenger, the
unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and
the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is
wrong and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the
evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them.
So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the
light which was sent down with him - it is those who will be the successful.”
(Quran 7:157)

|
Surat At-Tawbah (The Repentance),
Chapter 9, Verse 111:
“Indeed, Allah has purchased from the
believers their lives and their properties [in exchange] for that they will
have Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah , so they kill and are
killed. [It is] a true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel
and the Qur'an. And who is truer to his covenant than Allah ? So rejoice in
your transaction which you have contracted. And it is that which is the great
attainment.” (Quran 9:111)
|
|
"Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and
(the ones) who are with him are strict against the steadfast disbelievers,
constantly merciful among themselves. You see them constantly bowing
themselves, (and) constantly prostrating themselves, seeking Grace from Allah
and all-blessed Satisfaction. Their mark is on their faces, (being) the trace
of prostration; that is their likeness in the Tawrah; (the Book revealed to
Musa (Moses), of which the extant Torah is a corruption) and their likeness
in the Injil (The Book revealed to clea (Jesus), of which the extant Gospel
is a corruption) is as a plantation that brings out its shoot; then it
upholds it; then it grows stout; then it matures level upon its stalks,
wonderful to the diligent planters, that through them He may enrage the
steadfast disbelievers. Allah has promised the ones of them who have believed
and done deeds of righteousness forgiveness and a magnificent reward." (Quran 48:29)
|
|
So We
gave those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are
Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

of knowledge, you would have against Allah no protector or helper.” (Quran
2:120)
"They say, "Be Jews or Christians [so] you will be guided."
Say, "Rather, [we follow] the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth,
and he was not of the polytheists."
Say, [O
believers], "We have believed in Allah and what has been revealed to us
and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the
Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the
prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we
are Muslims [in submission] to Him." (Quran 2:135-136)
“And if you brought to those who were given the
Scripture every sign, they would not follow your qiblah. Nor will you be a
follower of their qiblah. Nor would they be followers of one another's qiblah.
So if you were to follow their desires after what has come to you of knowledge,
indeed, you would then be among the wrongdoers.” (Quran 2:145)
"Those messengers - some of them We caused to exceed others. Among them

intends." (Quran 2:253)
"He has sent down upon you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming
what was before it. And He revealed the Torah and the Gospel." (Quran 3:3)
"Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and the
family of 'Imran over the worlds -
Descendants,
some of them from others. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
[Mention, O
Muhammad], when the wife of 'Imran said, "My Lord, indeed I have pledged
to You what is in my womb, consecrated [for Your service], so accept this from
me. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing."
But when she
delivered her, she said, "My Lord, I have delivered a female." And
Allah was most knowing of what she delivered, "And the male is not like
the female. And I have named her Mary, and I seek refuge for her in You and [for]
her descendants from Satan, the expelled [from the mercy of Allah ]."
So her Lord
accepted her with good acceptance and caused her to grow in a good manner and
put her in the care of Zechariah. Every time Zechariah entered upon her in the
prayer chamber, he found with her provision. He said, "O Mary, from where
is this [coming] to you?" She said, "It is from Allah . Indeed, Allah
provides for whom He wills without account." (Quran 3:33-37)
"And [mention] when the angels said, "O Mary, indeed Allah has
chosen you and purified you and chosen you above the women of the worlds.
O Mary, be
devoutly obedient to your Lord and prostrate and bow with those who bow [in
prayer]."
That is from
the news of the unseen which We reveal to you, [O Muhammad]. And you were not
with them when they cast their pens as to which of them should be responsible
for Mary. Nor were you with them when they disputed.
[And mention]
when the angels said, "O Mary, indeed Allah gives you good tidings of a
word from Him, whose name will be the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary -
distinguished in this world and the Hereafter and among those brought near [to
Allah ].
He will speak
to the people in the cradle and in maturity and will be of the righteous."
She said,
"My Lord, how will I have a child when no man has touched me?" [The
angel] said, "Such is Allah ; He creates what He wills. When He decrees a
matter, He only says to it, 'Be,' and it is."
And He will
teach him writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel
And [make him] a
messenger to the Children of Israel, [who will say], 'Indeed I have come to you
with a sign from your Lord in that I design for you from clay [that which is]
like the form of a bird, then I breathe into it and it becomes a bird by
permission of Allah . And I cure the blind and the leper, and I give life to
the dead - by permission of Allah . And I inform you of what you eat and what
you store in your houses. Indeed in that is a sign for you, if you are
believers.
And [I have
come] confirming what was before me of the Torah and to make lawful for you
some of what was forbidden to you. And I have come to you with a sign from your
Lord, so fear Allah and obey me.
Indeed, Allah is
my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is the straight path."
But when Jesus
felt [persistence in] disbelief from them, he said, "Who are my supporters
for [the cause of] Allah ?" The disciples said," We are supporters
for Allah . We have believed in Allah and testify that we are Muslims
[submitting to Him].
Our Lord, we
have believed in what You revealed and have followed the messenger Jesus, so
register us among the witnesses [to truth]."
And the disbelievers
planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners.
[Mention] when
Allah said, "O Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and
purify you from those who disbelieve and make those who follow you [in
submission to Allah alone] superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of
Resurrection. Then to Me is your return, and I will judge between you
concerning that in which you used to differ.
And as for those
who disbelieved, I will punish them with a severe punishment in this world and
the Hereafter, and they will have no helpers."
But as for
those who believed and did righteous deeds, He will give them in full their
rewards, and Allah does not like the wrongdoers.
This is what We
recite to you, [O Muhammad], of [Our] verses and the precise [and wise]
message.
Indeed, the
example of Jesus to Allah is like that of Adam. He created Him from dust; then
He said to him, "Be," and he was.
The truth is
from your Lord, so do not be among the doubters." (Quran 3:42-60)
"O People
of the Scripture, why do you argue about Abraham while the Torah and the Gospel
were not revealed until after him? Then will you not reason?
Here you are -
those who have argued about that of which you have [some] knowledge, but why do
you argue about that of which you have no knowledge? And Allah knows, while you
know not.
Abraham was
neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was one inclining toward truth, a Muslim
[submitting to Allah ]. And he was not of the polytheists." (Quran 3:65-67)
"Say, "We have believed in Allah and in
what was revealed to us and what was revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac,
Jacob, and the Descendants, and in what was given to Moses and Jesus and to the
prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we
are Muslims [submitting] to Him."
And whoever
desires other than Islam as religion - never will it be accepted from him, and
he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers." (Quran 3:84-85)
“And
do not be like the ones who became divided and differed after the clear proofs
had come to them. And those will have a great punishment.” (Quran 3:105)
“And [We
cursed them] for their disbelief and their saying against Mary a great slander,
And [for] their saying, "Indeed, we have
killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah ." And
they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but [another] was made to
resemble him to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about
it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they
did not kill him, for certain.
Rather, Allah
raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise.
And there is
none from the People of the Scripture but that he will surely believe in Jesus
before his death. And on the Day of Resurrection he will be against them a
witness." (Quran 4:156-159)
"Indeed, We
have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], as We revealed to Noah and the prophets
after him. And we revealed to Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, the Descendants,
Jesus, Job, Jonah, Aaron, and Solomon, and to David We gave the book [of
Psalms].
And [We sent]
messengers about whom We have related [their stories] to you before and
messengers about whom We have not related to you. And Allah spoke to Moses with
[direct] speech.
[We sent]
messengers as bringers of good tidings and warners so that mankind will have no
argument against Allah after the messengers. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might
and Wise." (Quran 4: 163-165)
"O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess in your religion or
say about Allah except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, was but
a messenger of Allah and His word which He directed to Mary and a soul [created
at a command] from Him. So believe in Allah and His messengers. And do not say,
"Three"; desist - it is better for you. Indeed, Allah is but one God.
Exalted is He above having a son. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and
whatever is on the earth. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.
Never would the
Messiah disdain to be a servant of Allah , nor would the angels near [to Him].
And whoever disdains His worship and is arrogant - He will gather them to
Himself all together.
And as for
those who believed and did righteous deeds, He will give them in full their
rewards and grant them extra from His bounty. But as for those who disdained
and were arrogant, He will punish them with a painful punishment, and they will
not find for themselves besides Allah any protector or helper." (Quran 4:171-173)
“Made lawful to you this day are At-Tayyibat [all
kinds of Halal (lawful) foods, which Allah has made lawful (meat of slaughtered
eatable animals, etc., milk products, fats, vegetables and fruits, etc.). The
food (slaughtered cattle, eatable animals, etc.) of the people of the Scripture
(Jews and Christians) is lawful to you and yours is lawful to them. (Lawful to
you in marriage) are chaste women from the believers and chaste women from
those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) before your time, when
you have given their due Mahr (bridal money given by the husband to his wife at
the time of marriage), desiring chastity (i.e. taking them in legal wedlock)
not committing illegal sexual intercourse, nor taking them as girl-friends. And
whosoever disbelieves in the Oneness of Allah and in all the other Articles of
Faith [i.e. His (Allah's), Angels, His Holy Books, His Messengers, the Day of
Resurrection and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)], then fruitless is his work,
and in the Hereafter he will be among the losers.” (Quran 5:5)
“And from those who say, "We are
Christians" We took their covenant; but they forgot a portion of that of
which they were reminded. So We caused among them animosity and hatred until
the Day of Resurrection. And Allah is going to inform them about what they used
to do.” (Quran 5:14)
"They have certainly disbelieved who say that Allah is Christ, the son
of Mary. Say, "Then who could prevent Allah at all if He had intended to
destroy Christ, the son of Mary, or his mother or everyone on the earth?"
And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is
between them. He creates what He wills, and Allah is over all things competent.
But the Jews and
the Christians say, "We are the children of Allah and His beloved."
Say, "Then why does He punish you for your sins?" Rather, you are
human beings from among those He has created. He forgives whom He wills, and He
punishes whom He wills. And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and
the earth and whatever is between them, and to Him is the [final] destination.
O People of
the Scripture, there has come to you Our Messenger to make clear to you [the
religion] after a period [of suspension] of messengers, lest you say,
"There came not to us any bringer of good tidings or a warner." But
there has come to you a bringer of good tidings and a warner. And Allah is over
all things competent." (Quran 5:17-19)
"And We sent, following in their footsteps,
Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in the Torah; and
We gave him the Gospel, in which was guidance and light and confirming that
which preceded it of the Torah as guidance and instruction for the righteous.
And let the
People of the Gospel judge by what Allah has revealed therein. And whoever does
not judge by what Allah has revealed - then it is those who are the defiantly
disobedient.
And We have
revealed to you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming that which
preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it. So judge between them
by what Allah has revealed and do not follow their inclinations away from what
has come to you of the truth. To each of you We prescribed a law and a method.
Had Allah willed, He would have made you one nation [united in religion], but
[He intended] to test you in what He has given you; so race to [all that is]
good. To Allah is your return all together, and He will [then] inform you
concerning that over which you used to differ." (Quran 5:46-48)
“O you who have believed, do not take the Jews and the Christians as allies.
They are [in fact] allies of one another. And whoever is an ally to them among
you - then indeed, he is [one] of them. Indeed, Allah guides not the wrongdoing
people.” (Quran 5:51)
"And if only the People of the Scripture had believed and feared Allah
, We would have removed from them their misdeeds and admitted them to Gardens
of Pleasure.
And if only they
upheld [the law of] the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to them
from their Lord, they would have consumed [provision] from above them and from
beneath their feet. Among them are a moderate community, but many of them -
evil is that which they do.
O Messenger,
announce that which has been revealed to you from your Lord, and if you do not,
then you have not conveyed His message. And Allah will protect you from the
people. Indeed, Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.
Say, "O
People of the Scripture, you are [standing] on nothing until you uphold [the
law of] the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your
Lord." And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely
increase many of them in transgression and disbelief. So do not grieve over the
disbelieving people.
Indeed, those
who have believed [in Prophet Muhammad] and those [before Him] who were Jews or
Sabeans or Christians - those [among them] who believed in Allah and the Last
Day and did righteousness - no fear will there be concerning them, nor will
they grieve." (Quran 5:65-69)
"They have certainly disbelieved who say, " Allah is the Messiah,
the son of Mary" while the Messiah has said, "O Children of Israel,
worship Allah , my Lord and your Lord." Indeed, he who associates others
with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise, and his refuge is the Fire. And
there are not for the wrongdoers any helpers.
They have
certainly disbelieved who say, " Allah is the third of three." And
there is no god except one God. And if they do not desist from what they are
saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful
punishment.
So will they
not repent to Allah and seek His forgiveness? And Allah is Forgiving and
Merciful.
The Messiah, son
of Mary, was not but a messenger; [other] messengers have passed on before him.
And his mother was a supporter of truth. They both used to eat food. Look how
We make clear to them the signs; then look how they are deluded.
Say, "Do
you worship besides Allah that which holds for you no [power of] harm or
benefit while it is Allah who is the Hearing, the Knowing? (Quran 5: 72-76)
Say, "O People of the
Scripture, do not exceed limits in your religion beyond the truth and do not
follow the inclinations of a people who had gone astray before and misled many
and have strayed from the soundness of the way."
Cursed were those who disbelieved among the Children of Israel by the tongue of David and of Jesus, the son of Mary. That was because they disobeyed and [habitually] transgressed.
Cursed were those who disbelieved among the Children of Israel by the tongue of David and of Jesus, the son of Mary. That was because they disobeyed and [habitually] transgressed.
They used not
to prevent one another from wrongdoing that they did. How wretched was that
which they were doing. You see many of them becoming
allies of those who disbelieved. How wretched is that which they have put forth
for themselves in that Allah has become angry with them, and in the punishment
they will abide eternally. And if they
had believed in Allah and the Prophet and in what was revealed to him, they
would not have taken them as allies; but many of them are defiantly
disobedient." (Quran 5:72-81)
"You will surely find the most intense of the people in animosity
toward the believers [to be] the Jews and those who associate others with Allah
; and you will find the nearest of them in affection to the believers those who
say, "We are Christians." That is because among them are priests and monks
and because they are not arrogant." (Quran 5:82)
"[The Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, remember My
favor upon you and upon your mother when I supported you with the Pure Spirit
and you spoke to the people in the cradle and in maturity; and [remember] when
I taught you writing and wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel; and when you
designed from clay [what was] like the form of a bird with My permission, then
you breathed into it, and it became a bird with My permission; and you healed
the blind and the leper with My permission; and when you brought forth the dead
with My permission; and when I restrained the Children of Israel from [killing]
you when you came to them with clear proofs and those who disbelieved among
them said, "This is not but obvious magic." (Quran 5:110)
And [remember]
when I inspired to the disciples, "Believe in Me and in My messenger
Jesus." They said, "We have believed, so bear witness that indeed we
are Muslims [in submission to Allah ]."
[And remember]
when the disciples said, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, can your Lord send down to
us a table [spread with food] from the heaven? [Jesus] said," Fear Allah ,
if you should be believers."
They said,
"We wish to eat from it and let our hearts be reassured and know that you
have been truthful to us and be among its witnesses."
Said Jesus, the
son of Mary, "O Allah , our Lord, send down to us a table [spread with
food] from the heaven to be for us a festival for the first of us and the last
of us and a sign from You. And provide for us, and You are the best of
providers."
Allah said,
"Indeed, I will sent it down to you, but whoever disbelieves afterwards
from among you - then indeed will I punish him with a punishment by which I
have not punished anyone among the worlds."
And [beware the
Day] when Allah will say, "O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the
people, 'Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah ?'" He will say,
"Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right.
If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and
I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the
unseen.
I said not to
them except what You commanded me - to worship Allah , my Lord and your Lord.
And I was a witness over them as long as I was among them; but when You took me
up, You were the Observer over them, and You are, over all things, Witness.
If You should
punish them - indeed they are Your servants; but if You forgive them - indeed
it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.
Allah will
say, "This is the Day when the truthful will benefit from their
truthfulness." For them are gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers
flow, wherein they will abide forever, Allah being pleased with them, and they
with Him. That is the great attainment." (Quran 5:110-119)
“Those to whom We have given the Scripture (Jews and Christians)
recognize him (i.e. Muhammad SAW as a Messenger of Allah, and they also know
that there is no Ilah (God) but Allah and Islam is Allah's Religion), as they
recognize their own sons. Those who destroy themselves will not believe.”
(Quran 6:20)
"Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find
written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them
what is right and forbids them what is wrong and makes lawful for them the good
things and prohibits for them the evil and relieves them of their burden and
the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored
him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him - it is
those who will be the successful.
Say, [O
Muhammad], "O mankind, indeed I am the Messenger of Allah to you all,
[from Him] to whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. There is
no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death." So believe in Allah
and His Messenger, the unlettered prophet, who believes in Allah and His words,
and follow him that you may be guided." (Quran 7:157-158)
Surat At-Tawbah (The Repentance), Chapter 9, Verse 30-31:
“And the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the
Christians say: Messiah is the son of Allah. That is a saying from their
mouths. They imitate the saying of the disbelievers of old. Allah's Curse be on
them, how they are deluded away from the truth!
They have taken their scholars and
monks as lords besides Allah , and [also] the Messiah, the son of Mary. And
they were not commanded except to worship one God; there is no deity except
Him. Exalted is He above whatever they associate with Him.” (Quran 9:30-31)
Surat At-Tawbah (The Repentance), Chapter 9, Verse 111:
“Indeed, Allah has purchased from the believers their
lives and their properties [in exchange] for that they will have Paradise. They
fight in the cause of Allah , so they kill and are killed. [It is] a true
promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. And who
is truer to his covenant than Allah ? So rejoice in your transaction which you
have contracted. And it is that which is the great attainment.” (Quran 9:111)
"Say (O Muhammad SAW): "Call unto those besides Him whom you
pretend [to be gods like angels, Iesa (Jesus), 'Uzair (Ezra), etc.]. They have
neither the power to remove the adversity from you nor even to shift it from
you to another person."
Those whom they
call upon [like 'Iesa (Jesus) - son of Maryam (Mary), 'Uzair (Ezra), angel,
etc.] desire (for themselves) means of access to their Lord (Allah), as to
which of them should be the nearest and they ['Iesa (Jesus), 'Uzair (Ezra),
angels, etc.] hope for His Mercy and fear His Torment. Verily, the Torment of
your Lord is something to be afraid of!" (Quran 17: 56-57)
"And We said to the Children
of Israel after him: "Dwell in the land, then, when the final and the last
promise comes near [i.e. the Day of Resurrection or the descent of Christ
['Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary) on the earth]. We shall bring you
altogether as mixed crowd (gathered out of various nations).[Tafsir Al-Qurtubi,
Vol. 10, Page 338] (Quran 17:104)
"Do then those who disbelieve think that they
can take My slaves [i.e., the angels, Allah's Messengers, 'Iesa (Jesus), son of
Maryam (Mary), etc.] as Auliya' (lords, gods, protectors, etc.) besides Me?
Verily, We have prepared Hell as an entertainment for the disbelievers (in the
Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism)." (Quran 18:102)
"And mention, [O Muhammad], in the Book [the story of] Mary, when she
withdrew from her family to a place toward the east.
And she took, in
seclusion from them, a screen. Then We sent to her Our Angel, and he
represented himself to her as a well-proportioned man.
She said,
"Indeed, I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from you, [so leave me], if
you should be fearing of Allah."
He said, "I
am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy."
She said,
"How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?"
He said,
"Thus [it will be]; your Lord says, 'It is easy for Me, and We will make
him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us. And it is a matter [already]
decreed.' "
So she
conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a remote place.
And the pains of
childbirth drove her to the trunk of a palm tree. She said, "Oh, I wish I
had died before this and was in oblivion, forgotten."
But he called
her from below her, "Do not grieve; your Lord has provided beneath you a
stream.
And shake toward
you the trunk of the palm tree; it will drop upon you ripe, fresh dates.
So eat and
drink and be contented. And if you see from among humanity anyone, say,
'Indeed, I have vowed to the Most Merciful abstention, so I will not speak
today to [any] man.' "
Then she brought
him to her people, carrying him. They said, "O Mary, you have certainly
done a thing unprecedented.
O sister of
Aaron, your father was not a man of evil, nor was your mother unchaste."
So she pointed
to him. They said, "How can we speak to one who is in the cradle a
child?"
[Jesus] said,
"Indeed, I am the servant of Allah . He has given me the Scripture and
made me a prophet.
And He has made
me blessed wherever I am and has enjoined upon me prayer and zakah as long as I
remain alive
And [made me]
dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant.
And peace is on
me the day I was born and the day I will die and the day I am raised
alive."
That is Jesus,
the son of Mary - the word of truth about which they are in dispute.
It is not [befitting]
for Allah to take a son; exalted is He! When He decrees an affair, He only says
to it, "Be," and it is.
[Jesus said],
"And indeed, Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a
straight path." (Quran 19:16-36)
"Then the factions differed [concerning Jesus] from among them, so woe to
those who disbelieved - from the scene of a tremendous Day.
How [clearly]
they will hear and see the Day they come to Us, but the wrongdoers today are in
clear error.
And warn them,
[O Muhammad], of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be concluded; and
[yet], they are in [a state of] heedlessness, and they do not believe.
Indeed, it is We
who will inherit the earth and whoever is on it, and to Us they will be
returned." (Quran 19:37-40)
" And We did not send any Messenger
before you (O Muhammad SAW) but We inspired him (saying): La ilaha illa Ana
[none has the right to be worshipped but I (Allah)], so worship Me (Alone and
none else)."
And they say:
"The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or children)." Glory
to Him! They [those whom they call children of Allah i.e. the angels, 'Iesa
(Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary), 'Uzair (Ezra), etc.], are but honoured slaves.
They speak not
until He has spoken, and they act on His Command.
He knows what is
before them, and what is behind them, and they cannot intercede except for him
with whom He is pleased. And they stand in awe for fear of Him.
And if any of
them should say: "Verily, I am an ilah (a god) besides Him (Allah),"
such a one We should recompense with Hell. Thus We recompense the Zalimun
(polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.)." (Quran 21:25-29)
"And (remember) she who guarded her chastity
[Virgin Maryam (Mary)], We breathed into (the sleeves of) her (shirt or
garment) [through Our Ruh - Jibrael (Gabriel)], and We made her and her son
['Iesa (Jesus)] a sign for Al-'Alamin (the mankind and jinns).
Indeed this,
your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.
And [yet] they
divided their affair among themselves, [but] all to Us will return.
So whoever
does righteous deeds while he is a believer - no denial will there be for his
effort, and indeed We, of it, are recorders." (Quran 21:91-94)
"Verily those for whom the good has preceded from Us, they will be
removed far therefrom (Hell) [e.g. 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary); 'Uzair
(Ezra), etc.]." (Quran 21:101)
Surat Al-Mu'minūn (The Believers),
Chapter 23, Verse 50:
“And
We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign and sheltered them within a high
ground having level [areas] and flowing water.” (Quran 23:50)
"And on the Day when He will gather them together and that which they
worship besides Allah [idols, angels, pious men, saints, 'Iesa (Jesus) - son of
Maryam (Mary), etc.]. He will say: "Was it you who misled these My slaves
or did they (themselves) stray from the (Right) Path?" (Quran 25:17)
"And We bestowed on him [Ibrahim (Abraham)], Ishaque (Isaac) and Ya'qub
(Jacob), and ordained among his offspring Prophethood and the Book [i.e. the
Taurat (Torah) (to Musa - Moses), the Injeel (Gospel) (to 'Iesa - Jesus), the
Quran (to Muhammad SAW), all from the offspring of Ibrahim (Abraham)], and We
granted him his reward in this world, and verily, in the Hereafter he is indeed
among the righteous." (Quran 29:27)
"And [mention, O Muhammad], when We took from the prophets their
covenant and from you and from Noah and Abraham and Moses and Jesus, the son of
Mary; and We took from them a solemn covenant." (Quran 33:7)
"And when Allah Alone is mentioned, the hearts of those who believe not
in the Hereafter are filled with disgust (from the Oneness of Allah and when
those (whom they obey or worship) besides Him [like all false deities other
than Allah, it may be a Messenger like 'Iesa (Jesus) - son of Maryam (Mary),
'Uzair (Ezra), an angel, a pious man, a jinn, or any other creature even idols,
graves of religious people, saints, priests, monks, etc.] are mentioned,
behold, they rejoice!" (Quran 39:45)
"He has ordained for you of religion what He enjoined upon Noah and that
which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], and what We enjoined upon Abraham
and Moses and Jesus - to establish the religion and not be divided therein.
Difficult for those who associate others with Allah is that to which you invite
them. Allah chooses for Himself whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever
turns back [to Him]." (Quran 42:13)
"And when the son of Mary was presented as an example, immediately your
people laughed aloud.
And they said,
"Are our gods better, or is he?" They did not present the comparison
except for [mere] argument. But, [in fact], they are a people prone to dispute.
Jesus was not
but a servant upon whom We bestowed favor, and We made him an example for the
Children of Israel.
And if We
willed, We could have made [instead] of you angels succeeding [one another] on
the earth.
And indeed,
Jesus will be [a sign for] knowledge of the Hour, so be not in doubt of it, and
follow Me. This is a straight path.
And never let
Satan avert you. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.
"And when
Jesus brought clear proofs, he said, "I have come to you with wisdom and
to make clear to you some of that over which you differ, so fear Allah and obey
me.
Indeed, Allah is
my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is a straight path."
But the
denominations from among them differed [and separated], so woe to those who
have wronged from the punishment of a painful Day." (Quran 43:57-65)
"Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and (the ones) who are with him
are strict against the steadfast disbelievers, constantly merciful among
themselves. You see them constantly bowing themselves, (and) constantly
prostrating themselves, seeking Grace from Allah and all-blessed Satisfaction.
Their mark is on their faces, (being) the trace of prostration; that is their
likeness in the Tawrah; (the Book revealed to Musa (Moses), of which the extant
Torah is a corruption) and their likeness in the Injil (The Book revealed to
clea (Jesus), of which the extant Gospel is a corruption) is as a plantation
that brings out its shoot; then it upholds it; then it grows stout; then it
matures level upon its stalks, wonderful to the diligent planters, that through
them He may enrage the steadfast disbelievers. Allah has promised the ones of
them who have believed and done deeds of righteousness forgiveness and a
magnificent reward." (Quran 48:29)
“Has the time not come for those who have believed that their hearts
should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allah and what has come
down of the truth? And let them not be like those who were given the Scripture
before, and a long period passed over them, so their hearts hardened; and many
of them are defiantly disobedient.” (Quran 57:16)
"Then, We sent after them, Our Messengers, and We sent 'Iesa (Jesus) -
son of Maryam (Mary), and gave him the Injeel (Gospel). And We ordained in the
hearts of those who followed him, compassion and mercy. But the Monasticism
which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them, but (they
sought it) only to please Allah therewith, but that they did not observe it
with the right observance. So We gave those among them who believed, their
(due) reward, but many of them are Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).
O you who
believe [in Musa (Moses) (i.e. Jews) and 'Iesa (Jesus) (i.e. Christians)]! Fear
Allah, and believe too in His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), He will give you a
double portion of His Mercy, and He will give you a light by which you shall
walk (straight), and He will forgive you. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most
Merciful.
So that the
people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) may know that they have no power
whatsoever over the Grace of Allah, and that (His) Grace is (entirely) in His
Hand to bestow it on whomsoever He wills. And Allah is the Owner of Great
Bounty." (Quran 57:27-29)
Surat Al-Mujādila (The Pleading
Woman), Chapter 58, Verse 9:
“O you who have believed,
when you converse privately, do not converse about sin and aggression and
disobedience to the Messenger but converse about righteousness and piety. And
fear Allah , to whom you will be gathered.” (Quran 58:9)
"And [mention] when Jesus, the son of Mary, said, "O children of
Israel, indeed I am the messenger of Allah to you confirming what came before
me of the Torah and bringing good tidings of a messenger to come after me,
whose name is Ahmad." But when he came to them with clear evidences, they
said, "This is obvious magic." (Quran 61:6)
"O you who
have believed, be supporters of Allah , as when Jesus, the son of Mary, said to
the disciples, "Who are my supporters for Allah ?" The disciples
said, "We are supporters of Allah ." And a faction of the Children of
Israel believed and a faction disbelieved. So We supported those who believed
against their enemy, and they became dominant." (Quran 61:14)
"And Maryam (Mary), the daughter of 'Imran who guarded her chastity; and
We breathed into (the sleeve of her shirt or her garment) through Our Ruh [i.e.
Jibrael (Gabriel)], and she testified to the truth of the Words of her Lord
[i.e. believed in the Words of Allah: "Be!" and he was; that is 'Iesa
(Jesus) - son of Maryam (Mary); as a Messenger of Allah], and (also believed
in) His Scriptures, and she was of the Qanitin (i.e. obedient to Allah)."

The Statement of Allah Taa'la: "And to
Moses Allah spoke directly."
|
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "On the night of my Ascension to Heaven, I saw
(the prophet) Moses who was a thin person with lank hair, looking like one of
the men of the tribe of Shanua; and I saw Jesus who was of average height
with red face as if he had just come out of a bathroom. And I resemble
prophet Abraham more than any of his offspring does. Then I was given two
cups, one containing milk and the other wine. Gabriel said, 'Drink whichever
you like.' I took the milk and drank it. Gabriel said, 'You have accepted
what is natural, (True Religion i.e. Islam) and if you had taken the wine,
your followers would have gone astray.' [Sahih al-Bukhari: 3394]

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "One should not say that I am better than Jonah

(ﷺ) mentioned the

person as if from the people of the tribe of Shanu'a. Jesus was a
curly-haired man of moderate height." He also mentioned Malik, the
gate-keeper of the (Hell) Fire, and Ad-Dajjal. [Sahih al-Bukhari: 3395, 3396]

|
Abu Huraira
reported many ahadith from Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and one is that Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said:
I am most close to Jesus, son of Mary, among the
whole of mankind in this worldly life and the next life. They said: Allah's
Messenger how is it? Thereupon he said: Prophets are brothers in faith,
having different mothers. Their religion is, however, one and there is no
Apostle between us (between I and Jesus Christ). (Sahih Muslim: 2365c)

affirm my faith in Allah It is my ownself that deceived me. (Sahih Muslim: 2368)

"Do
not marry Al-Mushirkat till they believe..."
|
Whenever Ibn `Umar was asked about marrying a
Christian lady or a Jewess, he would say: "Allah has made it unlawful
for the believers to marry ladies who ascribe partners in worship to Allah,
and I do not know of a greater thing, as regards to ascribing partners in
worship, etc. to Allah, than that a lady should say that Jesus is her Lord
although he is just one of Allah's slaves." [Sahih Bukhari: 5285]

The advent (descent) of 'Isa (Jesus), son of
Maryam (Mary) alayhis-salam
|
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said "How will you be when the son of Mary (i.e. Jesus)
descends amongst you and your imam is among you." (Sahih Bukhari: 3449)
|
The Statement of Allah Taa'la: "O people
of the Scriptures! Do not exceed the limits in your religion..."
|
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If anyone testifies that None has the right to
be worshipped but Allah Alone Who has no partners, and that Muhammad is His
Slave and His Apostle, and that Jesus is Allah's Slave and His Apostle and
His Word which He bestowed on Mary and a Spirit created by Him, and that
Paradise is true, and Hell is true, Allah will admit him into Paradise with
the deeds which he had done even if those deeds were few." (Junada, the
sub-narrator said, " 'Ubada added, 'Such a person can enter Paradise
through any of its eight gates he likes.") [Sahih Bukhari: 3435]

A
man teaching (religion to) his woman-slave and his family
|
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said "Three persons will have a double reward:
1. A Person from the people of the scriptures who
believed in his prophet (Jesus or Moses) and then believed in the Prophet (ﷺ) Muhammad (i .e. has embraced Islam).
2. A slave who discharges his duties to Allah and
his master.
3. A master of a woman-slave who teaches her good
manners and educates her in the best possible way (the religion) and manumits
her and then marries her." [Sahih
Bukhari: 97]
|
The
Statement of Allah Taa'la: "And mention in the Book, the story of
Maryam..."
|
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "If a person teaches his slave girl good manners
properly, educates her properly, and then manumits and marries her, he will
get a double reward. And if a man believes in Jesus and then believes in me,
he will get a double reward. And if a slave fears his Lord (i.e. Allah) and
obeys his masters, he too will get a double reward." [Sahih Bukhari: 3446]

The
descent of Isa bin Mariam to judge according to the Shari'ah of our Prophet
Muhammad (saws); And how Allah has honored this Ummah; And clarifying the
evidence that this religion will not be abrogated; and that a group from it
will continue to adhere to the truth and prevail until the day of
resurrection
|
I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: A section of my people will not
cease fighting for the Truth and will prevail till the Day of Resurrection.
He said: Jesus son of Mary would then descend and their (Muslims') commander
would invite him to come and lead them in prayer, but he would say: No, some
amongst you are commanders over some (amongst you). This is the honour from
Allah for this Ummah. (Sahih
Muslim:156)

Riyad
as-Salihin: The Book of Miscellany
|
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "He who bears witness that there is no true god
except Allah, alone having no partner with Him, that Muhammad is His slave
and His Messenger, that 'Isa (Jesus) is His slave and Messenger and he
(Jesus) is His Word which He communicated to Maryam (Mary) and His spirit
which He sent to her, that Jannah is true and Hell is true; Allah will make
him enter Jannah accepting whatever deeds he accomplished". [ Riyad as-Salihin: 412]
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
Another narration in Muslim is: the Messenger of
Allah (ﷺ) said,
"Whosoever testifies that there is no true god except Allah and that
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, Allah (SWT) saves him from the Fire (of
Hell)".

The Caliphs
|
I heard al-Hajjaj addressing the people say: The
similitude of ‘Uthman with Allah is like the similitude of Jesus son of Mary.
He then recited the following verse and explained it: “Behold! Allah said: O
Jesus! I will take thee and raise thee to Myself and clear thee (of the
falsehood) of those who blaspheme.” He was making a sign with his hand to us
and to the people of Syria. (Sunan Abi
Dawud: 4641)

The Statement of Allah Taa'la: "(This is)

That the Prophet (ﷺ) talked to them about the night of his Ascension to the
Heavens. He said, "(Then Gabriel took me) and ascended up till he
reached the second heaven where he asked for the gate to be opened, but it
was asked, 'Who is it?' Gabriel replied, 'I am Gabriel.' It was asked, 'Who
is accompanying you?' He replied, 'Muhammad.' It was asked, 'Has he been
called?' He said, 'Yes.' When we reached over the second heaven, I saw Yahya
(i.e. John) and Jesus who were cousins. Gabriel said, 'These are John (Yahya)
and Jesus, so greet them.' I greeted them and they returned the greeting
saying, 'Welcome, O Pious Brother and Pious Prophet!;' " (Sahih Bukhari: 3430)

Signs of the hour
|
We were sitting in the shade of the chamber of
the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) discussing
(something) and when we mentioned the last hour, our voices rose high. The
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: The last
hour will not come or happen until there appear ten signs before it : the
rising of the sun in its place of setting, the coming forth of the beast, the
coming forth of Gog and Magog, the Dajjal (Antichrist), (the descent of)
Jesus son of Mary, the smoke, and three collapses of the earth: one in the
west, one in the east, and one in the Arabian Peninsula. The last of that
will be the emergence of a fire from Yemen, from the lowest part of Aden, and
drive mankind to their place of assembly. [Sunan Abi Dawud: 4311]
|
The appearance of the Dajjal
|
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: There is no prophet between me and him, that is, Jesus
(ﷺ). He will descent
(to the earth). When you see him, recognise him: a man of medium height,
reddish fair, wearing two light yellow garments, looking as if drops were
falling down from his head though it will not be wet. He will fight the
people for the cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill swine, and
abolish jizyah. Allah will perish all religions except Islam. He will destroy
the Antichrist and will live on the earth for forty years and then he will
die. The Muslims will pray over him. [Sunan Abi Dawud: 4324]
|
The breaking of the cross and the killing of
the pigs
|
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "The Hour will not be established until the son
of Mary (i.e. Jesus) descends amongst you as a just ruler, he will break the
cross, kill the pigs, and abolish the Jizya tax. Money will be in abundance
so that nobody will accept it (as charitable gifts). (Sahih Bukhari: 2476)
|
The
advent (descent) of 'Isa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary) alayhis-salam
|
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "By Him in Whose Hands my soul is, surely
(Jesus,) the son of Mary will soon descend amongst you and will judge mankind
justly (as a Just Ruler); he will break the Cross and kill the pigs and there
will be no Jizya (i.e. taxation taken from non Muslims). Money will be in
abundance so that nobody will accept it, and a single prostration to Allah
(in prayer) will be better than the whole world and whatever is in it."
Abu Huraira added "If you wish, you can recite (this verse of the Holy
Book): -- 'And there is none Of the people of the Scriptures (Jews and
Christians) But must believe in him (i.e Jesus as an Apostle of Allah and a
human being) Before his death. And on the Day of Judgment He will be a
witness Against them." (4.159) (See Fath-ul-Bari, Page 302 Vol 7) [Sahih Bukhari: 3448]

The Conquest Of Constantinople, The Emergence
Of The Dajjal And The Descent Of 'Eisa bin Mariam
|
The Last Hour would not come until the Romans
would land at al-A'maq or in Dabiq. An army consisting of the best (soldiers)
of the people of the earth at that time will come from Medina (to counteract
them). When they will arrange themselves in ranks, the Romans would say: Do
not stand between us and those (Muslims) who took prisoners from amongst us.
Let us fight with them; and the Muslims would say: Nay, by Allah, we would
never get aside from you and from our brethren that you may fight them. They
will then fight and a third (part) of the army would run away, whom Allah
will never forgive. A third (part of the army) which would be constituted of
excellent martyrs in Allah's eye, would be killed and the third who would never
be put to trial would win and they would be conquerors of Constantinople. And
as they would be busy in distributing the spoils of war (amongst themselves)
after hanging their swords by the olive trees, the Satan would cry: The
Dajjal has taken your place among your family. They would then come out, but
it would be of no avail. And when they would come to Syria, he would come out
while they would be still preparing themselves for battle drawing up the
ranks. Certainly, the time of prayer shall come and then Jesus (peace be upon
him) son of Mary would descend and would lead them. When the enemy of Allah
would see him, it would (disappear) just as the salt dissolves itself in
water and if he (Jesus) were not to confront them at all, even then it would
dissolve completely, but Allah would kill them by his hand and he would show
them their blood on his lance (the lance of Jesus Christ). [Sahih Muslim: 2897]

The
Book of Tribulations and Portents of the Last Hour
|
An-Nawwas b. Sam`an reported that Allah's
Messenger (ﷺ) made a mention of
the Dajjal one day in the morning. He (ﷺ) sometimes described him to be insignificant and sometimes
described (his turmoil) as very significant (and we felt) as if he were in the
cluster of the date-palm trees. When we went to him (to the Holy Prophet) in
the evening and he read (the signs of fear) in our faces, he (ﷺ) said:
What is the matter with you? We said: Allah's
Messenger, you made a mention of the Dajjal in the morning (sometimes
describing him) to be insignificant and sometimes very important, until we
began to think as if he were present in some (near) part of the cluster of
the date-palm trees. Thereupon he (ﷺ)
said: I harbor fear in regard to you in so many other things besides the
Dajjal. If he comes forth while I am among you, I shall contend with him on
your behalf, but if he comes forth while I am not amongst you, a man must
contend on his own behalf and Allah would take care of every Muslim on my behalf
(and safeguard him against his evil). He (Dajjal) would be a young man with
twisted, contracted hair, and a blind eye. I compare him to `Abd-ul-`Uzza b.
Qatan. He who amongst you would survive to see him should recite over him the
opening verses of Sura Kahf (xviii). He would appear on the way between Syria
and Iraq and would spread mischief right and left. O servant of Allah! adhere
(to the path of Truth). We said: Allah's Messenger, how long would he stay on
the earth? He (ﷺ) said: For forty
days, one day like a year and one day like a month and one day like a week
and the rest of the days would be like your days. We said: Allah's Messenger,
would one day's prayer suffice for the prayers of day equal to one year?
Thereupon he (ﷺ) said: No, but you
must make an estimate of time (and then observe prayer). We said: Allah's
Messenger, how quickly would he walk upon the earth? Thereupon he (ﷺ) said: Like cloud driven by the wind. He
would come to the people and invite them (to a wrong religion) and they would
affirm their faith in him and respond to him. He would then give command to
the sky and there would be rainfall upon the earth and it would grow crops.
Then in the evening, their pasturing animals would come to them with their
humps very high and their udders full of milk and their flanks stretched. He
would then come to another people and invite them. But they would reject him
and he would go away from them and there would be drought for them and
nothing would be left with them in the form of wealth. He would then walk
through the waste land and say to it: Bring forth your treasures, and the
treasures would come out and collect (themselves) before him like the swarm
of bees. He would then call a person brimming with youth and strike him with
the sword and cut him into two pieces and (make these pieces lie at a
distance which is generally) between the archer and his target. He would then
call (that young man) and he will come forward laughing with his face
gleaming (with happiness) and it would be at this very time that Allah would send Jesus, son of
Mary, and he will descend at the white minaret in the eastern side of
Damascus wearing two garments lightly dyed with saffron and placing his hands
on the wings of two Angels. When he would lower his head, there
would fall beads of perspiration from his head, and when he would raise it
up, beads like pearls would scatter from it. Every non-believer who would
smell the odor of his self would die and his breath would reach as far as he
would be able to see. He would then search for him (Dajjal) until he would
catch hold of him at the gate of Ludd and would kill him. Then a people whom
Allah had protected would come to Jesus, son of Mary, and he would wipe their
faces and would inform them of their ranks in Paradise and it would be under
such conditions that Allah would reveal to Jesus these words: I have brought
forth from amongst My servants such people against whom none would be able to
fight; you take these people safely to Tur. And then Allah would send Gog and
Magog and they would swarm down from every slope. The first of them would
pass the lake of Tiberias and drink out of it. And when the last of them
would pass, he would say: There was once water there. Jesus and his
companions would then be besieged here (at Tur, and they would be so much
hard pressed) that the head of the ox would be dearer to them than one
hundred dinars and Allah's Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would
supplicate Allah, Who would send to them insects (which would attack their
necks) and in the morning they would perish like one single person. Allah's
Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would then come down to the earth and they
would not find in the earth as much space as a single span which is not
filled with their putrefaction and stench. Allah's Apostle, Jesus, and his
companions would then again beseech Allah, Who would send birds whose necks
would be like those of Bactrian camels and they would carry them and throw
them where God would will. Then Allah would send rain which no house of clay
or (the tent of) camels' hairs would keep out and it would wash away the
earth until it could appear to be a mirror. Then the earth would be told to
bring forth its fruit and restore its blessing and, as a result thereof,
there would grow (such a big) pomegranate that a group of persons would be
able to eat that, and seek shelter under its skin and milch cow would give so
much milk that a whole party would be able to drink it. And the milch camel
would give such (a large quantity of) milk that the whole tribe would be able
to drink out of that and the milch sheep would give so much milk that the
whole family would be able to drink out of that and at that time Allah would
send a pleasant wind which would soothe (people) even under their armpits, and
would take the life of every Muslim and only the wicked would survive who
would commit adultery like asses and the Last Hour would come to them. [Sahih Bukhari 2937a]

“O People of the Scripture, do not commit excess

Indeed, Allah is but one God. Exalted is He above having a son. To Him

Jesus washed his face, hands, and feet before
praying
|
“After that, he poured water into a basin and
began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was
wrapped around him.
6 He came to Simon Peter, who said to him, “Lord,
are you going to wash my feet?”
7 Jesus replied, “You do not realize
now what I am doing, but later you will understand.”
8 “No,” said Peter, “you shall never wash my
feet.”
Jesus answered, “Unless I wash you, you have
no part with me.”
9 “Then, Lord,” Simon Peter replied, “not
just my feet but my hands and my head as well!”
10 Jesus answered, “Those who have had
a bath need only to wash their feet; their whole body is clean. And you are
clean, though not every one of you.” 11 For he knew who was
going to betray him, and that was why he said not every one was clean.
12 When he had finished washing their feet,
he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what
I have done for you?” he asked them. 13 “You call me
‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I
am. 14 Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet,
you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an
example that you should do as I have done for you. 16 Very truly I

Jesus and other prophets of the
Bible fasting up to 40 days.
Muslims do so also during the
month of Ramadan.
Muslims are required to fast the
full obligatory 30 days, and others take it a step further by fasting an
additional 6 days to increase their rewards.

“Moses was there with
the Lord forty days and forty nights without eating bread or
drinking water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant—the
Ten Commandments.” (Exodus 34:28)
“At that time I, Daniel,
mourned for three weeks. 3 I ate no choice food; no meat or
wine touched my lips; and I used no lotions at all until the three weeks
were over.
4 On the twenty-fourth day
of the first month, as I was standing on the bank of the great river,
the Tigris, 5 I looked up and there before me was a man
dressed in linen, with a belt of fine gold from Uphaz around his waist. 6 His
body was like topaz, his face like lightning, his eyes like flaming
torches, his arms and legs like the gleam of burnished bronze, and
his voice like the sound of a multitude.” (Daniel 10:2-6)
“So he got up and ate and drank.
Strengthened by that food, he traveled forty days and forty nights until
he reached Horeb, the mountain of God. ” (1 Kings 19:8)

Jesus taught to say “Peace to this house” when
entering it, and to also greet the people in the house with “peace be unto
you”.
Muslims do exactly what Jesus did and taught.
When we enter our homes and the homes of others we say “Bismillah” and also
greet with "as salaamu alaikum” (peace be upon you).
|
“When you enter a house, first say, ‘Peace to
this house.’” (Luke 10:5)
|
“There is not upon the blind [any] constraint nor
upon the lame constraint nor upon the ill constraint nor upon yourselves when
you eat from your [own] houses or the houses of your fathers or the houses of
your mothers or the houses of your brothers or the houses of your sisters or
the houses of your father's brothers or the houses of your father's sisters
or the houses of your mother's brothers or the houses of your mother's
sisters or [from houses] whose keys you possess or [from the house] of your
friend. There is no blame upon you whether you eat together or separately.
But when you enter houses, give greetings of peace upon each other - a
greeting from Allah , blessed and good. Thus does Allah make clear to you the
verses [of ordinance] that you may understand.” (Quran 24:61)
Rib'i bin Hirash (May Allah be pleased with him)
reported:
A man of Banu 'Amir tribe has told us that he had
asked the Prophet (ﷺ)
for permission to enter when he was at home. He said: "May I
enter?" Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to the servant, "Go out and
instruct him about the manner of seeking permission. Tell him to say:
As-Salamu 'Alaikum (may you be safe from evil). May I come in?" The man
heard this and said: "As-Salamu 'Alaikum (may you be safe from evil).
May I come in?" The Prophet (ﷺ) then accorded permission to him and he
entered in. [Abu Dawud, Riyad as-Salihin 6:28]

Jesus was circumcised. Circumcision
is 1 of the 5 fitrah in Islam, so Muslim men are required to be circumcised.
According to the Bible in Luke 2:21, Jesus was eight days old when he was
circumcised.
In the Torah, Allah/God stated
to the Prophet Abraham that it is an “Everlasting covenant” (see Genesis
17:13). In the Qur’an verse 16:123
Muslims are required to follow
the religion of Abraham. The Prophet Muhammad said, “The Prophet Abraham
circumcised himself when he was eighty years old.”
|
“On the eighth day, when it was
time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had
given him before he was conceived.” (Luke 2:21)
“Whether born in your household
or bought with your money, they must be circumcised. My covenant in your
flesh is to be an everlasting covenant. ” (Genesis 17:13)
|
“Then We revealed to you, [O
Muhammad], to follow the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth; and he
was not of those who associate with Allah .” (Quran 16:123)

Jesus spoke aramaic and called God ”Elah”, which
is pronounced the same as “Allah”. Aramaic is an ancient, Biblical language.
It is one of the Semitic languages that also include Hebrew, Arabic, Ethiopic
and the ancient Assyrian and Babylonian language of Akkadian.
The Aramaic”Elah” and the Arabic “Allah” are the
same.
The Aramaic “Elah” is derived from the Arabic
“Allah”, and it means “GOD”. “Allah” in Arabic also means”GOD”, the Supreme
GOD Almighty. You can easily see the similarity in their pronunciation so
this concludes that the God of Jesus is also the God of the Muslims, of all
mankind, and all that exist.
|
1. Jesus taught that there is
only One God and Only God should be worshipped as taught in Deut 6:4, Mark
12:29. Muslims also believe this as taught in the Qur’an verse 4:171.
2. Jesus didn’t eat pork as
taught in Leviticus 11:7, and neither do Muslims as taught in the Qur’an verse
6:145.
3. Jesus greeted with the words
“as salaamualaikum” (Peace be with you) in John 20:21. Muslims also greet each
other this way.
4. Jesus always said “God
Willing” (inshallah), Muslims say this too before doing anything as taught in
the Qur’an verses 18:23-24.
5. Jesus washed his face, hands,
and feet before praying. The Muslims do the same.
6. Jesus and other prophets of
the Bible offered prayer with their head to the ground (see Matthew 26:39).
Muslims do too as taught in the Qur’an verse 3:43.
7. Jesus had beard and wore a
throbe. It is Sunnah for Muslim men to do the same.
8. Jesus followed the law and
believed in all the prophets, (see Matthew 5:17). Muslims do too as taught in
the Qur’an
verses 3:84, and 2:285.
9. Jesus’ mother Maryam dressed
modestly by fully covering her body and wearing a headscarf (hijab) as found in
1 Timothy 2:9, Genesis 24:64-65, and Corinthians 11:6. Muslim women modestly
dress the same as taught in the Qur’an verse 33:59.
10. Jesus and other prophets of
the Bible fasting up to 40 days (see Exodus 34:28, Daniel 10:2-6, Kings 19:8,
and Matthew 4:1- Muslims do so also during the month of Ramadan. Muslims are
required to fast the full obligatory 30 days (see Qur’an 2:183), and others
take it a step further by fasting an additional 6 days to increase their
rewards.
11. Jesus taught to say “Peace to
this house” when entering it (see Luke 10:5), and to also greet the people in
the house with “peace be unto you”. Muslims do exactly what Jesus did and
taught. When we enter our homes and the homes of others we say “Bismillah” and
also greet with "as salaamu alaikum” (peace be upon you) as taught in the
Qur’an verse 24:61.
12. Jesus was circumcised.
Circumcision is 1 of the 5 fitrah in Islam, so Muslim men are required to be
circumcised. According to the Bible in Luke 2:21, Jesus was eight days old when
he was circumcised. In the Torah, Allah/God stated to the Prophet Abraham that
it is an “Everlasting covenant” (see Genesis 17:13). In the Qur’an verse 16:123
Muslims are required to follow the religion of Abraham. The Prophet Muhammad said,
“The Prophet Abraham circumcised himself when he was eighty years old.”
13. Jesus spoke aramaic and
called God ”Elah”, which is pronounced the same as “Allah”. Aramaic is an
ancient, Biblical language. It is one of the Semitic languages that also include
Hebrew, Arabic, Ethiopic and the ancient Assyrian and Babylonian language of
Akkadian.
The Aramaic”Elah” and the Arabic
“Allah” are the same.
The Aramaic “Elah” is derived
from the Arabic “Allah”, and it means “GOD”. “Allah” in Arabic also means”GOD”,
the Supreme GOD Almighty. You can easily see the similarity in their
pronunciation so this concludes that the God of Jesus is also the God of the
Muslims, of all mankind, and all that exist.
