Determine the Fasting and Pilgrimage Months

Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow), Chapter 2, Verse 189:

2:189

"They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the new moons. Say, "They are measurements of time for the people and for Hajj." And it is not righteousness to enter houses from the back, but righteousness is [in] one who fears Allah. And enter houses from their doors. And fear Allah that you may succeed." (Quran 2:189)

Surat Al-Baqarah (The Cow), Chapter 2, Verse 185:

2:185

"The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful." (Quran 2:185)

Surat Fuşşilat (Explained in Detail), Chapter 41, Verse 37:

41:37

“And of His signs are the night and day and the sun and moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or to the moon, but prostate to Allah , who created them, if it should be Him that you worship.” (Quran 41:37)
