Zakah
Surat At-Tawbah (The Repentance), Chapter 9, Verse 60:
"Zakah expenditures are only for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect [zakah] and for bringing hearts together [for Islam] and for freeing captives [or slaves] and for those in debt and for the cause of Allah and for the [stranded] traveler - an obligation [imposed] by Allah . And Allah is Knowing and Wise." (Quran 9:60)
Surat Ar-Rūm (The Romans), Chapter 30, Verse 39:
"And whatever you give for interest to increase within the wealth of people will not increase with Allah . But what you give in zakah, desiring the countenance of Allah - those are the multipliers." (Quran 30:39)
"And they were not commanded except to worship Allah , [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakah. And that is the correct religion." (Quran 98:5)
By Hadith
"Giving charity to a poor person is charity, and (giving) to a relative is two things, charity and upholding the ties of kinship."
